Fiber Art
The marbling designs that I do on fabric are mostly derived from the ancient marble patterns used centuries ago by book makers, and before that, by scribes on parchment documents. Starting with the most basic pattern (called nonpariel), I vary the designs and use colorful acrylic paint to create intricate and complex fabrics.
Pictured above is part of a new series I call Painted Applique using Sacred Geometry designs and mica powder. Additional pieces will also feature hand embroidery, shisha mirrors and mettalic foils.
